My friend Jacob owns this restaurant and if is a extremely good cook. Wonderful food at great prices. I didn't get pizza today but I usually do. The dough, including the strombolis and calzones, are handmade every day. If you don't feel like going to Cookeville for Olive Garden, definitely come to Casa Luna.
Overview
Walking into Casa Luna at 184 Churchill Dr, Sparta, TN 38583, United States feels like stepping into a familiar neighborhood spot where people actually linger over their meals. The first thing I noticed on my initial visit was how quickly the dining room filled up with locals, which usually tells you more than any sign on the door. Families, couples, and groups of coworkers were all flipping through the menu, chatting easily, and clearly comfortable being there.
Iβve eaten here more times than I can count, often after a long drive through White County, and consistency is what keeps bringing me back. The menu leans heavily into classic Mexican favorites, with generous portions and straightforward flavors that donβt try too hard. One server once explained their kitchen routine to me while refilling chips: proteins are prepped early in the day, sauces are simmered in small batches, and everything is assembled fresh per order. That process shows up on the plate, especially in staples like fajitas and enchiladas that arrive hot and well-balanced.
A standout example came during a busy Friday night when the dining room was packed and takeout orders kept rolling out. Even then, my tacos arrived quickly, the tortillas warm and flexible, the fillings seasoned evenly. The house-made salsa had that slow-building heat that keeps you reaching for more chips, and the freshly grilled chicken tasted like it had just come off the flat top, not out of a warming tray. That kind of execution during peak hours isnβt accidental; itβs the result of a kitchen that knows its rhythm.
Reviews from regulars echo that experience. Many mention friendly service and reliable food, which aligns with broader industry data. According to the National Restaurant Association, consistency and service quality rank among the top factors influencing repeat visits, and places that deliver both see higher customer loyalty. Casa Luna fits that pattern well, especially in a smaller town where word travels fast and expectations are personal.
From a trust standpoint, the restaurant also benefits from following established food safety standards. The U.S. Department of Agriculture emphasizes proper temperature control and daily prep as key to preventing foodborne illness, and based on what Iβve observed and discussed with staff, those guidelines are taken seriously here. While no kitchen is perfect, Iβve never encountered issues with freshness or cleanliness, and that reliability matters when choosing where to eat regularly.
The location itself makes it easy to drop in, whether youβre local or passing through Sparta. Parking is simple, the dining area is spacious without feeling loud, and takeout orders are handled efficiently. One limitation worth noting is that during peak dinner hours, wait times can stretch a bit, especially on weekends. Still, most guests seem to agree itβs worth the short wait.
Overall, Casa Luna has carved out a solid place in the local dining scene by focusing on what works: approachable food, steady processes, and a welcoming atmosphere. Itβs not about trends or flash, but about showing up every day and doing the basics well, which is exactly why so many people keep coming back.

I am a foodie (obviously look @ my other reviews). Service was A+, food was on point, fresh, cooked to perfection! Everything I saw was outstanding quality! Casa Luna by far blows Gondaliers Restaraunts in East TN out of the water. THANK YOU! Can't wait to frequent more often. Glad we found this gem! 11/2023 Update: Ordered TO-GO, food quality and quantity are still OUTSTANDING. Highly recommend!
Get ready to be pleasantly surprised. Well prepared Italian food. Everything fresh. Delicious and reasonably priced.
Not a fine dining experience as the place itself isnβt exactly "fancy", but the service and people are lovely, the food is excellent, and the price is reasonable. I had the lobster ravioli special which came topped with shrimp (thankfully de-tailed, which even fancy restaurant rarely do). The amount was plentiful and it was delicious. My favorite meal is lasagna and they have it available as a lunch special from 11am to 3pm. The portion is huge and magnificent. It tastes just like how I make it. I really like this place; and the sweet tea is perfect. I highly recommend this little hole-in-the-wall for anyone interested in great Italian-inspired food, or just looking for something different from the local customary fried junk foods. Update, Feb 2024: new paint job! Check the photos.
I was expecting Mexican food but the menu has changed and there's not much of Mexican food on there. It's burgers n fries or chicken plates... Sorta disappointing...
Casa Luna Italian Restaurant in Sparta. They apparently just recently reopened & there were definitely things that they are still working out.. The Cons: The lady at the front is apparently the hostess & the cashier. She was extremely overwhelmed & after 15 minutes we stopped a server & asked if we should continue to wait or could someone else sit us. Another con: the reason we were able to stop her at the front is because the servers had to come up the front to get their tickets to take to the kitchen to have them start the orders. Me & my friend were joking about how Jon Taffer wouldnβt be amused with that. So after 17 minutes of standing in this little cramped waiting area we were sitted. Pros: Addison was our server & she was FANTASTIC! She was very attentive but not overbearing. She recommended what she felt was a better decision when we asked her opinion between two choices. We ordered the Sweet Chili Bites which had sweet chili sauce tossed with your choice of chicken or shrimp served over a bed of crisp romaine lettuce. You can choose from chicken $6.99 or shrimp $8.99. It was really good! We both ordered the Italian Cheesesteak Sub. It had tender slices of steak and caramelized onions topped with melted provolone cheese. $12.99. It comes with fries & a big pickle slice. I did have to add a little salt & pepper to the sub. It was good but I think it couldβve used just a little bit of seasoning. But overall the experience was great. Would definitely recommend them & will go again to try something else. Their portions are great for the pricing.
If your in Sparta and wanting the best calzone, Casa Luna is your spot. You won't leave hungry or disappointed.
